Video games!

Are video games good or bad?

I think that video games can be good and bad.

I think that video games can be good because you can learn things off of them. Like some games have good learning things like the DS there is a game called Brain Age and they ask you math question and if you know your colors and if you can count.

I also think that video games can be bad, because if you play like COD and you play it way to much you might start doing the things you do in COD to your younger siblings, and if you do it to your younger siblings you will get into to trouble.

So i think that if you play them to much you will go do those things in real life and get into trouble.
“Oh my god,” I trembled, horrified at the blood and the puncture wounds on the front and back of my leg just below my knee. It made me feel sick when i looked at my wounds. Thank goodness Tim and Steve were there to help me wrap it up and put an elastic band on my leg. Steve and Tim asked “Can you make it back to the scientific hut?” “I will be fine, we should carry on our journey” Amy said. Tim and Steve were on either side of me helping me walk. Tim asked “How i was doing?” “Fine my leg is starting to hurt just a little bit” Amy said. “Do you want to take a rest before we continue on?” Steve asked. “No” I think we should continue on, because i have a feeling something is going to happen, as if something is following us as we walk further on.” “What makes you think something is following us?” Tim asked.

“I just have a feeling... And we must be very careful as we cross that crack over there.” Amy said. “Did you hear that big bang?” Steve said. “There look, below us that seal is following us under the ice” Amy screamed horrified. “It must be the blood that she smells from my elastic bandage.” Amy said. “I wonder if that baby seal we saw when we were leaving the scientific hut has anything to do with her?” Steve asked. “Hey look there is the baby seal we saw when we were leaving the scientific hut” Tim said. “Look out for that crack!” yelled Steve. Just as Steve said that that seal that was following us jumped out of the water on to the ice and blocked us from going any further. She went for Steve, Amy and Tim thought that Steve was going to get badly hurt. The seal started charging at Steve. Swing your crampon, Tim and Amy yelled. Steve started swinging his crampon at the seal, the crampon and hit the seal across the face. She fell down for a few minutes, so we ran as fast as we possibly could. We watched out the window as the seal got up, that when she heard her baby call for her. So she went to her baby and they went back under water. “Whoa, that was close” Steve said. “I am glad she found her baby” Amy said. Tim dropped his backpack on the ice, as he went to get it he stepped on a thin layer of ice and fell through the ice. “Steve, Tim fell through the ice let go and help him get out” Amy said. “Tim is you okay?” Steve asked. “Help i can’t get out” Tim shouted. We got him out and took him inside to warm him up. Next thing i heard was the plane to come and get us. We got into the plane and flew home.

Daniel's Story

In chapter 5, Daniel's father said that the radio was really important to the family.  He said that it gave them hope and...
"Hope was more important than bread."
What did he mean?  Do you agree or disagree with this statement?

I agree with what Daniel's father said about hope being more important than bread for three reasons.  Firstly, I think that if you have no hope then you will not get that far in life. Like if you went to work without any hope you would not succeed at your job because you would think that you have no chance at anything you want to do anymore. Secondly, If you don’t have hope you would not have a chance at anything you would want to do, like if you want to go to college you would have to have hope to get good grades so you can become what you want to become.  Thirdly, I still think that you need food to survive but you also need hope to keep you going in your life.

Why Literacy is Important!

Literacy is important because if we don't know how to write or read we would not be able to help our kids to learn how to read. Like some elders can’t read, and if you can’t read someone can steal your money or rip you off with something because if you go to a store and you are getting something they could say it is more than it actually is. Also if go to another country and you don't know how to speak in their language you will not know where to go, and if go to a restaurant in a different country and you don't know how to read their menu you could eat something that you are allergic too. This is why i think Literacy is important.
